Identify the vehicle and price basis

A useful quote identifies the model, year, trim, condition, quantity, currency and period of validity. It should state which equipment or accessories are included and how substitutions are handled. A domestic guide price is a reference rather than the complete cost of sourcing and exporting a vehicle. If the final vehicle has not yet been selected, ask what remains to be confirmed.

Ask for the named trade term and place

When a quotation uses an Incoterms rule such as FOB or CIF, ask for the named port or place and the agreed edition. Those terms allocate responsibilities, costs and risks; they should not be read as a promise that every charge at the destination is covered. Discuss insurance scope, transport arrangements and required documents in writing. Select the appropriate term for the actual transaction with your trading and logistics advisers.

Build a complete budget

Ask which sourcing, preparation and origin-side services are included, and which freight or insurance items are separately quoted. Obtain destination charges and local tax or registration estimates from the relevant local providers. A dealer should compare per-vehicle and batch costs; an individual buyer should understand the full path to the intended place of use. Do not assume the lowest vehicle-only price produces the lowest completed purchase cost.

Request a quote for your destination

Dealers and individual buyers can request sourcing against an agreed specification. Include the model, trim, quantity, destination and contact details. Vehicle selection, procurement and export preparation are confirmed for the particular order; the catalogue is a research resource rather than a stock list. Ask which costs, documents and services are included before approving a purchase.

Questions, answered.

Does a CIF quotation include every cost after arrival?

Do not assume so. Request the exact contractual scope, insurance terms and destination exclusions, and obtain local charge estimates separately. A trade term does not replace a complete written quotation.
